AI Automation for Small Businesses in Croatia: What Can Actually Be Automated?
Most small businesses in Croatia still do not see how much daily work can be automated. Emails, calendars, bookings, invoices, records and internal processes do not have to be repeated manually every day.

When I say AI automation, I do not just mean asking ChatGPT to write an Instagram caption.
I mean all the small tasks, and sometimes the bigger processes too, that simply have to get done every day, every week or every month. Emails. Calendar management. Bookings. Data reviews. Invoice preparation. Follow-up reminders. Lead tracking. Quote creation. Internal reports. Records that someone keeps filling in manually.
Most of those things can be automated.
And I do not mean that theoretically. My own business already runs heavily on AI. What AI can take over, it takes over. What it still cannot do well enough, I do manually. That is the healthiest way to use it: do not force AI where it does not make sense, but use it fully where it clearly saves time.
The problem is that Croatian businesses still do not see the full potential
Most small businesses in Croatia do not have time to experiment with AI tools.
And I understand that. If you run a salon, car wash, service business, shop, office, clinic or any other local business, you do not have the luxury of sitting for days and testing what can be connected, automated or made faster.
That creates an interesting situation: the potential is huge, but most businesses are not using it yet.
That is exactly where I see the opportunity.
Not every business needs a huge CRM, expensive ERP or another monthly software subscription with 200 features they will never use. Much more often, they need one concrete solution that does exactly what they need.
No noise. No extra complexity. No unnecessary features.
What can be automated?
Short answer: almost anything that repeats.
Longer answer: it depends on how you work. I cannot know your business from the outside. I can only guess. That is why the first step is never to sell an "AI package", but to understand what you actually do every day.
Examples of work that can often be automated:
- replying to repeated enquiries
- calendar and appointment organization
- online bookings
- confirmation and reminder messages
- collecting and reviewing data
- quote creation
- invoice preparation
- stock tracking
- internal reports
- client records and enquiry status tracking
- automatically sending documents after a client fills out a form
- pulling data from multiple tools into one simple overview
When I worked in a bar, counting stock took too much time. So I built a small app that helped me do it much faster. It was not a big platform. It did not need to be. It solved one specific problem.
That is the point.
The best automation is often not a "big system". The best automation is a small tool that saves you hours every week.
Simple software solutions for real problems
Alongside AI automation, I increasingly see room for something I would call simple software solutions.
That can mean:
- a booking system
- a quote generator
- an invoice generator
- a small CRM
- an internal dashboard
- a stock tracking app
- an enquiry tracking system
- a field-work organization tool
- a simple employee app
Why pay for expensive tools that were not built for you?
When we build a custom app, it is shaped around the way you work. Not someone else's process. Not an "average user". Not 500 features you do not need.
Only what you use.
That is exactly how we worked on the custom app for Autopraonica King. The goal was not to create a huge system. The goal was to create a tool that supports their real process.
Is automation always worth it?
In my opinion, yes.
If something costs you time, energy or focus every week, it is worth checking whether it can be made faster.
Sometimes the solution is simple. Sometimes it is more complex. Sometimes it is AI. Sometimes it is a regular web app. Sometimes it is a mix of everything.
But there is almost always a part of the business that can be done smarter.
What does the process look like?
First, we sit down and talk.
That is normal here anyway. Coffee, conversation, what you do, how you do it, where you lose time, what annoys you, what repeats, where mistakes happen and which part of the work you would most like to remove from your plate.
Only when I understand the context can we talk about the solution.
After that, we map the process, find the best opportunity, define what needs to be built and ship the solution in days, not months.
How much does it cost?
It depends on what we are building.
Smaller solutions can start at around 400 € and up. Larger, more complex solutions depend on functionality, integrations and scope.
But the important difference is this: a custom solution is often a one-time investment, not another monthly subscription you pay for years.
If the tool saves you time every week, reduces mistakes, speeds up communication and helps you capture more enquiries, it starts making sense very quickly.
AI automation in Croatia is still early
Realistically, there are still not many people in Croatia offering this in a practical way.
There is a lot of talk about AI. There is much less real implementation inside small businesses.
And small businesses are exactly where simple, smart solutions can create the most value. You do not need lectures about the future of artificial intelligence. You need a tool that can remove part of your workload this month.
If you have a process that keeps repeating, there is probably a way to automate it.
If you are not sure what could be automated in your business, even better. That is exactly what we go through in the consultation.
